Activity Stream

The Activity Stream is a list of all actions taken by sales users in the Portal.  You can view the Activity Stream page by clicking on Activity Stream in the navigation area.

Key Concepts

  1. Activities are listed in multiple areas throughout the admin application as well as the portal.
  2. Filtered activity streams are found at the object level.  For example, when looking at the details of an Asset, an Activities tab will show activities related to the asset you are viewing.
  3. Activities have two dates: When the activity was initiated and when it was completed.  Depending on the type of activity these dates could be identical or could be separated by hours or even days.  The completion of an activity depends on the type and specific action taken.  Here is how a Completion date is given, based on the marketing tool type:
    1. Assets & Templates
      1. Download: As soon as the sales team user downloads the item from the portal
      2. Email: When the recipient clicks on the link on the email and downloads the asset or template from the portal
      3. URL: As soon as the sales team user generates the URL
    2. Message Campaign: When the message campaign is initiated in the integrated messaging platform
    3. Products: When the vendor (supplier) assigned to the product marks the product as being shipped

Activity Stream List

The activity stream list includes key columns and is always sorted by newest to oldest:
  1. Date/Time: When the activity was initiated
  2. ID: A unique code assigned to the activity
  3. Sales Team: Which sales team performed the activity
  4. Person: Which person within the Sales Team performed the activity
  5. Contact: Displays a contact person (customer or lead) if the contact is the target of the activity
  6. Type: The marketing tool type
  7. Item: The specific marketing tool item for the activity
  8. Completion Date: If the activity is considered complete, the date will appear
The master list of activities can be filtered in a number of ways:
  1. Sales Team Type: Select the type of sales team.
  2. Sales Team: Only see activity from a particular sales team
  3. Date Range: Change the from and to dates to select a date range
  4. Include Completed Items: Toggle to view/hide activities considered complete
After changing filter options, click the "Apply Filters" button.

Activity Stream Detail

To view details for the activity:
  1. On a larger screen, click the icon at the end of the row
  2. On a mobile device, click "See Details"
The details of the activity will be displayed.  The contents of the page will change depending on the type of activity.

Some activities, such as email delivery of assets and templates, will include steps taken by the recipient.  The date/time and description of these steps are logged, along with the IP address captured.  The system will attempt to assign a latitude and longitude to these actions using publically available databases.  Accuracy if these results are limited and not guaranteed.
