Message Campaigns is an integration with MailChimp that allows you to make email campaigns available to your sales teams in the Portal. Assets are managed in Marketing Tools --> Assets in the admin application.

Message Campaigns are currently in beta status.
Key Concepts
- Message Campaigns are delivered through integrated 3rd party solutions. Currently, MailChimp is the only option available. A MailChimp account is required to use this feature.
- You will select which campaign templates from the integrated solution will be made available in the Portal.
- Sales users in the Portal can use the Message Campaigns by defining Contact Lists, which are collections of contacts they have defined.
Defining the Integration
The first step is to define the integration with MailChimp:
- Brand Wings needs an Audience defined in MailChimp. Go to Audience-->Manage Audience-->View Audiences. This will be automatically created or you can create it manually: Click "Create Audience" and enter "Brand Wings". Note that this text must exactly be "Brand Wings".
- Click on the Integrations tab in Message Campaigns
- The public API key must be created in MailChimp. Go to Account-->Extras-->API Keys. Click "Create a Key". Copy and paste the new key into the Brand Wings public API field.
- The private API key may be left blank.
- Enter an email address that should be the default. Note that the domain of the email address should be verified with MailChimp. Click here to learn more about this process.
- Click Save
- A Data Mapping section should appear on the screen. If it does not, refresh the page in your browser
- Both MailChimp and Brand Wings support both standard and custom fields for Contacts. Standard fields are automatically mapped, but custom fields must be explicitly mapped by you.
- For all applicable custom fields in Brand Wings, select the MailChimp custom field to map the data to. Note that it is not required for all custom fields to be mapped if the data will not be used in the email campaigns.
- Click Save when finished.
Adding Templates
You must add Templates you have already defined in MailChimp to BrandWings. Note that MailChimp generates a thumbnail image of the Templates you define. The Template cannot be added to Brand Wings until this Thumbnail image has been created. This may take 5-10 minutes to generate. To see if the Thumbnail has been generated, look at the Templates list in MailChimp. If you see a preview image of the Template, this means the Thumbnail is generated.
- Click on the Templates tab
- Click Add Campaign Template. This opens a small window
- Select MailChimp from the Integration dropdown.
- Select the Template from MailChimp in the Template dropdown.
- Enter a description.
- Click Save.
Message Campaign List
- On the Templates tab, a list of all defined Message Campaigns appears.
- You may search for a message campaign by entering part of the name or code in the search box.
- By default, deleted campaigns are not shown. To include deleted campaigns, use the Include Deleted toggle.
- To edit or manage a message campaign, click the icon in the Actions column
Message Campaign Details
To manage or edit a message campaign, click on the icon in the Actions column of the message campaign list. This opens the detail page. The asset detail page is arranged into 5 tabs:
- Details: This includes the name and description of the message campaign.
- If updating the name or description, be sure to click Save when finished
- To delete the message campaign, click the Delete icon
- Preview: This is an image-based preview of the campaign template, generated by MailChimp.
- Permissions: Define access to this message campaign in the portal. There are two types of controls for managing access. These controls work together:
- Roles: Select which defined Sales Team Roles will have access to the message campaign. By default, "All Sales Team Roles Allowed" is selected
- Sales Teams: Select which specific Sales Teams will have access to the message campaign. By default, "All Sales Teams Allowed" is selected
- Activity Stream: Shows Portal activity associated with this message campaign. This can be useful for understanding which users and teams use the asset as well as the frequency of usage.
- Audits: Shows all activity associated with the Asset.
